Tom Cruise has reportedly split from his girlfriend Ana de Arma, with the couple said to have realised they are better off as friends
Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise has apparently parted ways with girlfriend Ana de Armas following just a handful of months together.
The Top Gun legend, 63, had a whirlwind romance with the 37-year-old actress after they were first romantically linked in February, initially trying to keep their relationship under wraps.
The pair were caught on several outings and made things official during the spring months. But fresh reports now suggest they’ve ended their fling after concluding they work better as pals.
Sources claim the relationship simply “ran its course” and “they aren’t dating anymore”, reports the Mirror. An insider revealed: “They just realised they weren’t going to go the distance and that they are better off as mates. The spark had gone between them, but they still love each other’s company, and they’ve both been really adult about it.”
A source told The Sun: “She’s already been cast in his next film, so they will continue to work together.”
Tom and Ana eventually confirmed their budding romance after months of rumours when they were photographed walking hand-in-hand through Woodstock, Vermont.
The couple wandered down a peaceful street alongside a small circle of friends whilst clasping hands.
This public show of affection followed shortly after the duo were spotted in London, where they allegedly travelled via Tom’s private helicopter and caught one of the Oasis gigs at Wembley Stadium. Earlier this July, Tom and Ana were also spotted holidaying in Menorca, Spain, where photographers captured them unwinding together on a lavish yacht, appearing relaxed and intimate with one another.
Whilst neither has publicly acknowledged a romantic connection, their frequent outings and shared travel arrangements have led many to speculate they are more than just mates.
The pair of actors were initially connected on Valentine’s Day following sightings of them sharing dinner in London. Their encounter was originally portrayed as business-related, but their ongoing companionship has fuelled speculation.
Two months on, Ana and Tom were glimpsed in the capital again as they marked her birthday. A source speaking to Mail Online revealed that Cruise had been “showering Ana with gifts ever since they met.”
They continued: “First, it started with her favourite flowers, then books he thought she would want to read because she’s an avid reader. As they got to know each other, the gifts became more personal – jewellery, designer clothes, and more.
“Probably the biggest gift he has given her is the freedom to travel anywhere in the world at a moment’s notice.”
Ana was previously believed to be romantically involved with Manuel Anido Cuesta, the stepson of Cuba’s president.
Tom was formerly connected to Russian socialite Elsina Khayrova. He was also wed to actress Nicole Kidman, who recently revealed her surprising separation from husband Keith Urban after 19 years of marriage.
Following her split from Tom, Nicole found love with American country crooner Keith, and the couple tied the knot in 2006, later becoming parents to two daughters. However, just last month, it was announced that the pair were putting an end to their marriage.
