The brother of a prominent property developer who was kidnapped outside his home by an underworld gang has been located and released.

George Ayoub, 28, the younger brother of Masscon Property founder Charlie Ayoub, was kidnapped while leaving his Belfield home in Sydney‘s south-west shortly before 6am last Thursday.

CCTV has emerged of the terrifying moment he was grabbed by three masked men as he walked out of his driveway to go to the gym.

Ransom demands were made to Mr Ayoub’s family while he was held captive over the weekend before he was located by detectives and reunited with his relieved family on Sunday night.

Reformed gangster Peter Vaiusu took to social media hours after the abduction pleading for Mr Ayoub’s release after receiving a panicked phone call from his older brother Charlie, 37, whom he has business dealings with.

Mr Vaiusu offered to hand over $80,000 worth of gold for Mr Ayoub’s release.

‘He got kidnapped this morning, he has never been in trouble in his life, never had a criminal record, never been involved with gangs,’ he said.

‘But they nabbed him this morning because his brother, Charlie, has a little bit of money.

Following the kidnapping, reformed gangster Peter Vaiusu took to social media, calling for Ayoub’s release and offering $80,000 worth of gold

CCTV footage shows the moment Ayoub was kidnapped

‘To the gang that nabbed him this morning I’m asking you, please, let him go.

‘I’ve lived the life, I’ve been charged with kidnapping myself – other gangsters – so I know how it works.

‘All I’m asking for is a bit of compassion… At this point, right now, it’s all about the Ayoub family. This guy is not a gangster.’

It’s understood Mr Ayoub has business dealings with his older brothers Charlie, 37, and Normie, 34, and own a rural property together in the NSW Southern Highlands.

Detectives spent four days searching for Mr Ayoub before he was located on Sunday  returned to his family.

Police had previously asked media not to release details of the last week’s kidnapping last week, fearing that publicity could result in Mr Ayoub being harmed.
