Footballer shares replace after triple leg break and dislocation pressured recreation to be deserted

A Cambridge United footballer has shared an update after they suffered a a triple leg break and dislocation over the weekend forcing the game to be abandoned

A footballer has shared an update after they were left with a triple leg break and dislocation after a horror injury.

Cambridge United Women faced Chatham over the weekend in the FAWNL South East Division 1 at St Neots Town Football Club. And the U’s would quickly race into a two-goal lead in the first-half.

However, the game was brought an abrupt halt in the 31st minute after a horror injury to Brooke Cheal-Ferris. She would receive treatment on the pitch, before the decision was taken to abandon the game.

In a statement, Cambridge said: “It is with regret that today’s game has been abandoned due to a serious injury to Brooke Cheal-Ferris.

“Everyone at the club wishes her all the best and a speedy recovery.”

And Cheal-Ferris has now updated fans on social media after the horror injury. In a post on X, she said: “Absolutely gutted to have suffered a triple leg break and dislocation in today’s game.

“The biggest thank you for all the love and messages…The come back is on (post surgery that is)!”

Cambridge replied: “So sorry to hear the news Brooke, but so inspired by your positive attitude towards the set-back! You have the full support of everyone at the club.”

While Chatham also shared the injury news with the message: “I’m sure everyone in the Chats family will join us in wishing Brooke the very best.”

Other football clubs also wished Cheal-Ferris in her recovery: “Wishing you all the best in your recovery, Brooke,” Luton Ladies said.

“Wishing you all the best with your recovery and we’re sure you’ll come back stronger,” Tividale Ladies replied. And Actonians WFC added: “So sorry to hear about your injury.

“Hope you recover soon! Sending you best wishes from everyone at Actonians.”
