Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United’s momentum was halted against Nottingham Forest but they still salvaged a draw

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has shared his thoughts after the team’s winning streak was halted by Nottingham Forest.

The Red Devils managed to secure a draw thanks to a late equaliser from Amad at the City Ground, after Sean Dyche’s side had come from behind to take the lead with goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona. But it was a blow to their momentum.

United entered the match riding high on the back of three consecutive wins. However, Ruben Amorim’s squad didn’t perform as well against Forest, with Neville pointing out one player who failed to make an impact. Off the pitch, United are gearing up for the upcoming January transfer window.

Reports suggest that Barcelona have been discussing the future of loanee Marcus Rashford, while the Red Devils are reportedly considering a move for a highly-rated Real Madrid outcast. Here’s all the latest news from Old Trafford.

Gary Neville’s verdict on Benjamin Sesko

United stalwart Gary Neville has confessed he remains unsure about Benjamin Sesko, reports the Mirror.

The young forward was one of three attackers brought in to strengthen United’s front line this summer, joining from RB Leipzig for a fee of £66.4million, potentially rising to £74m.

Sesko has found the net twice for United in 11 outings, making his seventh start in the stalemate at Forest. Whilst Neville acknowledges the immense pressure on the 22-year-old striker, he confessed to being underwhelmed by Sesko’s display over the full 90 minutes.

Neville told NBC Sports: “I’m no further forward with him. The jury is out. He’s well off it compared to the other summer signings that Man United made up front in Cunha and Mbeumo.

“He looks awkward, he had a couple of really good opportunities in the first half – when balls got played over the top. And his touch wasn’t quite right.

“For £80m, you can say he’s young, or has a lot of potential and he’s only just settling in, but you still want to see a bit more.”

Marcus Rashford transfer update

Rashford has flourished since moving to Barcelona this summer, as the United loanee had netted five times and registered seven assists in 13 matches before the weekend, with the 28-year-old eager to remain at the Camp Nou beyond this campaign.

Spanish outlet Sport has claimed that Rashford’s representatives have already engaged in discussions with Barcelona regarding a permanent switch.

Rashford still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his United deal, but Barcelona possess a £27m option to buy come summer.

While this could be a savvy move for Barcelona, if Rashford’s form persists, the Spanish club’s financial troubles are well known. One suggested solution is for Rashford to sign a long-term contract until 2030, which would help spread out the fee, albeit on reduced terms compared to his current salary at United.

United in tussle for Endrick

United reportedly face competition from Aston Villa in the race to sign Real Madrid’s young star, Endrick, ahead of the January transfer window.

The highly-regarded Brazilian striker officially moved to Los Blancos from Palmeiras last year after turning 18 and has since made 37 appearances across all competitions.

However, Endrick had to wait until Real’s victory over Valencia on Sunday to make his first appearance of the season under new coach Xabi Alonso.

The Brazil international’s lack of game time ahead of the World Cup has sparked rumours about a possible departure from Real Madrid.

Daily Star Sport broke the news that United are keeping an eye on the possibility of signing Endrick on loan in January. However, the Red Devils are likely to face stiff competition for the forward’s signature, with Villa and Juventus among the teams interested in Endrick.
