Big Brother legend Davina McCall was fighting several health issues, including a terrifying brain tumour, but after being given the all-clear, she’s been hit with more sad news
Davina McCall has revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. This comes just months after she was given the all-clear following a tumour within her brain.
The Big Brother star, 58, revealed all in an emotional update posted to her social media channels. She went on to say that she first discovered the lump five weeks ago and got it checked as quickly as possible.
Thankfully, she was able to be given the all-clear by doctors after the small tumour was removed. She was told by medics that she did the right thing by coming forward as quickly as possible as they caught it before it could spread.
Davina explained that she told the crowd at a Dine with Davina event held on Friday (November 7) that she was now free from the disease. However, it was clear that the My Mum, Your Dad star was left shaken by her diagnosis, according to the Sun.
Recalling the evening, Davina admitted the crowd at the charity event was left stunned when she revealed her devastating diagnosis. But, ever defiant, Davina urged people to make sure they are getting checked as often as possible to catch any potential changes and have them investigated as fast as they can.
She admitted that the scare first came when she was working on The Masked Singer and has spotted a sign to “check her boobs”. Deciding to take on the challenge, she began to feel around her breasts when she noticed a “tiny weeny” lump on several occasions and then even spotted it in the mirror.
Heading to the doctors, she said: “So I went and I got it checked. She (the doctor) was like, ‘No, no, you’re fine. You had a mammogram in August. It’ll be fine’. And I thought, oh, I’ll be fine. That’s great. But then she said, ‘Oh, well, if it is anything, we’ll do a little biopsy’.”
She continued: “But if it is anything, it’s so small, you’ve got it early’. Anyway, I got the result back a few days ago. It was four millimetres, which is minute.”
