Father ‘comes again from the lifeless’ as household discover him respiration after loved-ones gathered for his funeral

A family rejoiced after a 70-year-old man presumed dead started breathing again today as preparations for his funeral were already underway.

Makhanlal Vaid, from Indore, India, suffered a brain hemorrhage and was admitted to hospital last week where he underwent surgery.

His condition continued to deteriorate and he was placed on life support.

Vaid was then withdrawn from life support, leading the family to believe he stopped breathing and died – and so, they took him home.

After half an hour, the man began breathing again.

The startling moment came after an announcement on social media had already been made of his death and relatives had gathered at the family home, making arrangements for the funeral.

His son dubbed it a miracle and has confirmed Vaid is recovering at home.

‘We are praying for my father’s speedy recovery’, his updated social media post read.

70-year-old Vaid’s loved-ones had begun preparing for his funeral when they unexpectedly heard him breathe again

Last year, another Indian man was reported to have come ‘back from the dead’ as he was being prepared to be cremated in India.

Rohitash Kumar, 45, showed faint signs of life to prevent his own cremation just moments before he was due to be put on the pyre in Jhunjhunu City, Rajasthan.

Footage shows the live but seemingly catatonic man wrapped in a blanket and surrounded by stunned onlookers as he appears to resurrect himself.

Kumar, who is both mute and deaf, had spent three hours in a freezing morgue before staff noticed that he was still breathing.

Officials said the patient was a mute and deaf orphan staying at a local shelter when he fell ill and was taken to hospital days before.

Doctors declared him dead after his condition kept deteriorating but failed to do a post-mortem examination where they would have realised he was, in fact, still alive.

Police Superintendent of Jhunjhunu City said: ‘The man did not have any relatives present when he initially arrived at the hospital.

‘His condition worsened and there were no signs of life.

‘The doctors were supposed to do a post-mortem examination but they did not do anything.’

‘They just fulfilled the paper formalities and sent the man for cremation.

There, Kumar was reportedly kept for several hours in a cold mortuary before the funeral rites.

Local media reported Kumar eventually did pass away while undergoing emergency treatment, following the incident.

Police said the principal medical officer and three doctors involved in the case have been suspended over the alleged negligence.
