Burberry to be quizzed over tempo of revival

Burberry will face scrutiny this week over its ability to keep up the pace in its turnaround.

Chief executive Joshua Schulman has been working to restore investor confidence in the luxury brand after a slump in sales and profits.

He has vowed to return the brand to ‘timeless British luxury’, with a renewed focus on outerwear such as its £1,900 check-print coats.

Burberry (modelled by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley) will report results for the three months to the end of September on Thursday.

Analysts expect sales to rise by 1 per cent, an improvement on the 1 per cent decline in the previous quarter.

But investors are also anxious to see some signs of green shoots in China.
