Floral tributes and heartbreaking messages have been laid in memory of Lily Whitehouse who was found dead in Sandwell, West Midlands on November 5 – Mohammed Azim, 41 has been charged
Tributes have paid to a “beautiful” teenager who was found dead in the street. Lily Whitehouse was discovered gravely injured on Park Street, Sandwell in the West Midlands at around 9.50pm on Wednesday, November 5.
Despite the efforts of emergency services the 19-year-old was declared dead at the scene. Several floral tributes and heartbreaking messages have since been laid near to where Lily was found.
A note attached to one bouquet read: “Such a beautiful soul, taken away too soon,” reports Birmingham Live. “You will be missed by all. Sleep in paradise, beautiful.” Another message said: “May you rest in peace. Gone too soon.”
Yet another simply stated: “RIP Lily.”
Among the floral tributes tied to a lamppost, a pink teddy bear could also be seen, wrapped in a plastic bag to shield it from the weather.
Devastated friends also paid tribute with one writing: “R.I.P Lily Whitehouse god bless you baby girl,” adding that they were “absolutely shocked’ and ‘sleep tight beautiful.”
Another said: “Another precious person lost in a tragic way…you’ll be missed and loved.”
West Midlands Police said: “A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found with serious injuries in Oldbury on Wednesday night (5 Nov).
“Lily Whitehouse aged 19, was found with serious injuries in Park Street at around 9.50pm. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
Mohammed Azim, of Tividale Road, Tipton, was charged with Lily’s murder last week.
The 41-year-old appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court this morning (Monday, November 10), where a plea and trial preparation hearing was scheduled for December 16.
