Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have been granted new royal roles following a “secret deal” between their father Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and King Charles
In a significant development, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have been cleared to take on new Royal roles following a reportedly clandestine agreement between their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and King Charles.
Although the monarch ultimately decided to oust Andrew, 65, from Royal Lodge, it was determined that both Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie would retain their titles. However, their embattled father has lost his title as prince and has been effectively exiled from Royal life.
According to reports, Charles reached this decision after forging a “secret deal” with his brother, which has now bolstered the prospects of Beatrice and Eugenie. This week, Beatrice, 37, was appointed as the new Deputy Patron of the charity Outward Bound, which has strong ties to the Royal Family.
The charity’s previous patron was Prince Philip, who held the position for 65 years before passing the mantle to his second son, the then Prince Andrew. Outward Bound utilizes “wild adventure to help young people realise their potential through learning, challenge and discovery in the outdoors”.
Commenting on the appointment, Martin Davidson, the chief executive of Outward Bound, stated: “With the Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Beatrice working alongside us, we’re embarking on a new chapter. One where every young person has the chance to test their limits, build confidence and discover that anything is possible. Their support reflects a shared belief that adventure changes lives.”, reports the Mirror.
Princess Beatrice, a mother of two, has secured a new opportunity following the scandal surrounding her father, with no repercussions for her or her sister. Richard Eden, a Daily Mail journalist, revealed in today’s edition that this was made possible by a “secret deal” reportedly struck between Charles and Andrew to shield the princesses.
Their mother, Sarah Ferguson, hasn’t been as fortunate amidst the fallout. The 66 year old now faces the task of finding her own home and employment after Andrew’s eviction.
The future appears less promising for Sarah, who can no longer use the title Duchess of York, compared to her daughters’ prospects, and she is reportedly considering a move to Portugal.
On Monday, Beatrice visited Chelsea and Westminster Hospital to tour the research laboratories of charity Borne and learn about their work to prevent premature birth. Her own daughter, Athena, was born prematurely at the west London hospital, and Beatrice serves as a patron of Borne.
The princesses have often accompanied Andrew and Sarah Ferguson on global travels, occasionally becoming embroiled in the couple’s controversies. For example, in 2006, Andrew invited his associate, the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, to Beatrice’s 18th birthday party.
