King’s Cross station ‘evacuated’ after main alert as police and hearth crew swarm space

A major UK station has been evacuated as police and fire crews swarm the area. King’s Cross St. Pancras Underground Station has closed after all passengers were told to leave this evening (November 17) due to an “emergency”.

Users on social media site X (formerly Twitter), have shared videos of several fire engines racing to the scene and police walking behind the closed gates.

A major alert can be heard on some footage, warning passengers to leave immediately.

The alert, which echoed throughout the station, said: “Your Attention please. Due to a reported emergency, would all passengers leave the station immediately.”

Confirmation on the closure has been given on the Transport for London (TFL) website as they warn a “fire alert” has gone off.

The statement read: “King’s Cross St. Pancras: Closed – This station is closed while we respond to a fire alert. Tickets are being accepted on London Buses.”
