This is the moment a security guard fights with a man on a bike during a dramatic festive bust-up at the Manchester Christmas markets.
Footage shows the Showsec security officer questioning the man who appeared to have been cycling through the markets at Piccadilly Gardens.
The notorious area in the city centre has become a hotbed for crime – with coverage over high levels of anti-social behaviour being increasingly amplified in recent months by social media influencers.
Just two weeks ago, on Halloween, a sick brawl was caught on camera and widely shared online, leading to three arrests.
Greater Manchester Police have admitted Piccadilly Gardens has an ‘image problem’, and that was backed up by another incident over the weekend.
A YouTuber, who was filming in the area to highlight the high levels of crime, witnessed the moment an aggressive cyclist brawled with a security guard and a police officer.
In the footage, a crowd can be seen forming as a security guard is seen shoving the man, who is wearing a helmet and has a bike lock around his neck. It is not clear what they were arguing about but the man’s bike could be seen splayed out on the ground.
Becoming increasingly hostile, the man tells the guard: ‘Why you pushing me? I should bang you in your face d***head.’

After the man pinched him on the nose, the security guard swung his arm at him as a brawl erupted in front of families
He then warns the guard to stop touching his bike when the man picks it up from the floor and asks they cyclist to leave the market.
The local then becomes increasingly aggressive, taunting the security team and pinching one of their noses.
The security guard reacts to the pinch by swinging at the man’s head and grabbing him. He and another guard are then seen escorting the man out of the premises.
Growing increasingly agitated, the man shouts: ‘I should smack you, you little muppet… I’ll break your nose.’
He then repeatedly threatens to swing at him as the row escalates before a police officer comes in to diffuse the situation.
The officer grabs the man and pushes him up against a shop window as customers watch on in horror.
As he squirms away, the officer holds the man tightly and threatens to ‘gas’ him if he doesn’t stop resisting.
Footage then shows them scuffling as the police officer tries to put the man in handcuffs.
As a large crowd gathers around the incident, the officer calls for back up and sprays him in the eye.
Greater Manchester Police officers were called and the man was sprayed with pepper spray
The man responds by smiling, laughing, sticking his tongue out and saying ‘thank you’.
The officer, who appears to have blood on his hand, can then be heard arresting the man for ‘assault’.
Multiple other officers can then be seen arriving and attempting to pin the man down as he continues to resist the arrest.
They then pick him up and carry him into a police van in front of shocked bystanders.
A Greater Manchester spokesperson said: ‘We are aware of a video circulating showing the arrest of a man in the Piccadilly Gardens area on Friday 7 November 2025.
‘During the course of the arrest, an officer deployed the use of PAVA spray.
‘A man has since been charged with common assault, criminal damage, resisting arrest and racially aggravated harassment. He was remanded in custody to appear in Bolton Magistrates Court on 20 November 2025.
‘No misconduct issues have been identified.’
