Trump confirms he’ll signal Epstein information invoice as he struggles by way of FIFA presentation with weak voice – dwell

Croaky Trump says he hurt his voice yelling at people

President Donald Trump has confirmed that he would sign a bill compelling the Justice Department to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Trump said he would sign the legislation while speaking to reporters during a White House FIFA World Cup 2026 Task Force meeting in the Oval Office. The House is expected to vote on the bill as soon as Tuesday, but it could still face hurdles in the Senate.

The president’s voice was also hoarse throughout the event, prompting one reporter to ask him about it.

“I feel great,” Trump replied. “I was shouting at people because they were stupid about something having to do with trade in a country, and I straightened it out, but I blew my stack at these people.”

Trump was later pressed on which country it was, but he declined to answer.

The event comes after Trump said that House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, in a stunning reversal of his former position. Before Trump’s endorsement, Republicans appeared split on whether to vote for a bill that would compel the Justice Department to release the files. But now, some lawmakers are anticipating a unanimous House vote on the issue, The New York Times reports.

Watch: Hakeem Jeffries reacts to Trump backing the release of the Epstein files

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has reacted to President Donald Trump backing the release of Justice Department files on the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, after opposing the measure.

“Given the fact that Trump has just caved once again, spectacularly and publicly, and now wants to lie to the American people that Donald Trump all along has been interested in the Epstein files released. Really?” Jeffries told reporters Monday.

Jeffries accused the Trump administration of trying to cover up information related to Epstein.

The administration has not been formally accused of any wrongdoing in connection with its handling of the Epstein files.

Newsom trolls Trump over Epstein relationship

President Donald Trump dismissed his relationship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein — only for California Governor Gavin Newsom to post a decades-old photo of the two together.

Trump told reporters Monday that some people who are “being looked at very seriously” for their relationship with Epstein were with the disgraced financier “all the time.”

The president added: ”I wasn’t. I wasn’t at all.”

Newsom then reacted to Trump’s comments by posting a photo on X of Trump and Epstein partying at Mar-a-Lago in 1992, which was captured from archived footage taken by NBC News.

Trump says he’ll sign bill on Epstein files release

President Donald Trump was asked Monday afternoon if he would sign a bill compelling the Justice Department to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Trump said he would sign it, but also accused the Epstein files of being a “Democrat problem.”

“What I just don’t want Epstein to do is detract from the great success of the Republican Party, including the fact that the Democrats are totally blamed for the shutdown,” Trump said.

Trump also claimed that “all of [Epstein’s] friends were Democrats,” and named former President Bill Clinton, among others. This comes after Clinton’s spokesperson, Angel Urena, said last week that the newly released Epstein emails “prove Bill Clinton did nothing and knew nothing.”

Trump says voice hoarse because he was ‘shouting’ at people

President Donald Trump was asked about his hoarse voice during a White House FIFA World Cup 2026 Task Force meeting in the Oval Office.

“I feel great,” Trump said on Monday afternoon. “I was shouting at people because they were stupid about something having to do with trade in a country, and I straightened it out.”

Trump later added that the country “wanted to try and renegotiate the terms of their trade deal, and I wasn’t happy about it.”

When pressed about which country it was, Trump responded: “Why would I say that to you?”

GOP lawmaker predicts unanimous support for Epstein bill

Representative Lance Gooden told The New York Times he expects all of his Republican colleagues to vote to release the Epstein files.

“As long as Democrats and President Trump both are calling for the release, I can’t imagine anyone not voting to release tomorrow,” he told the outlet. “I predict 100 percent will vote to release.”

However, there may be one holdout: Republican Representative Troy Nehls, who said late last week he would vote “no on the Epstein hoax.” It’s unclear whether he’s changed his mind in light of Trump’s recent reversal, the Times reports.
