David Bruce Delong, 40, is facing charges for the alleged murder of Amber Czech, 20, who was brutally beaten with a sledgehammer at a manufacturing plant where they both worked
Disturbing footage allegedly captures the moment a worker brutally killed a woman at a manufacturing facility using a sledgehammer.
The Minnesota man is now facing charges for the alleged murder of his colleague on Tuesday, November 12. The man has been named as David Bruce Delong, 40, who was filmed on CCTV leaving Amber Czech, 20, with severe head injuries and substantial bleeding from the sledgehammer attack.
He was allegedly seen leaving his work area and approaching Czech’s station, where he repeatedly struck her until she collapsed to the ground, North Wright County Today reported. According to police, Delong informed another worker: “I hit her with your hammer. She is by your toolbox. She is gone.”
Officers revealed that Delong had stated he “did not like” Czech, and had been plotting to kill her for some time, as KARE reported that Delong made this confession after being read his rights. He appeared before magistrates last week, charged with second-degree murder, reports the Irish Star.
Advanced Press Technologies, where Delong and Czech were employed, manufactures tanks and various equipment for dairy farms across the state. “We are heartbroken by yesterday’s tragedy, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends in this terrible moment. We are also making sure our employees have the support they need and working closely with law enforcement as they continue their investigation,” the company said in a statement issued to CBS.
“Production at the facility has been paused for the remainder of the week, and administrative staff are working remotely.”
It comes after a mum was arrested for allegedly slashing the throat of her nine-year-old son. The horrific knife assault occurred in Italy and the woman was identified as Stasiuk Olena.
She was accused of killing her son in their residence, before attempting to injure herself as well. Olena, from Ukraine, allegedly carried out the crime after being left alone with her son for the first time since separating from the boy’s father.
Officers in Muggia, Trieste province, found the boy’s body after being alerted by his father who grew worried about his son’s wellbeing when he couldn’t reach Olena. The father, who remains unnamed, had been granted primary custody of his son, but was still permitted to see Olena.
Police at the property confirmed the death of the boy, who was discovered on the bathroom floor, and arrested the woman – and it’s understood he had been dead for several hours before officers arrived.
