Two teenagers hurled racist abuse at a father after they stabbed him and left him to die outside his mother’s house, a court heard today.
Kamran Aman, 38, was knifed in the heart just after midnight on July 1 in Barry, a seaside town in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales.
He was getting into his Volkswagen Passat after visiting his mother when he was allegedly set upon by the two youths, aged 16 and 17.
The youngsters, ‘fuelled by drink and rage’, targeted the property developer ‘for no good reason’ before stabbing him with a kitchen knife.
He was allegedly racially abused by his attackers who called him the N-word as he bled to death on the pavement outside his mother’s home.
Mr Aman, a father-of-one, was described as a ‘devoted husband’ and ‘loving father’ by his grieving family following his death.
Prosecutor Owen Edwards KC said: ‘This case demonstrates the lethal example of drunk angry young men arming themselves with a knife.’
He said: ‘Shortly before midnight on the evening of June 30, Kamran Aman, a husband, father, aged 38, was the victim of a fatal stab wound suffered within a few metres of his mother’s home in Barry Road, Barry.

‘Kamran was attacked for no good reason by two young men fuelled by drink and by rage – both are responsible for his murder.’
Mr Edwards said the teenagers had bought spirits from a local shop and downed booze on a train before becoming ‘intent on violence’.
He said the 16-year-old defendant ‘launched an unprovoked and unlawful attack on Kamran Aman who had simply got into his car.’
He was then joined by his friend who ‘briefly left the scene to obtain a large kitchen knife’ before stabbing Kamran in the heart.
Mr Edwards said: ‘He succeeded with a single blow which penetrated his heart.
‘The two young men left Kamran to bleed to death on the pavement while concerned neighbours did all they could to assist Kamran.’
Cardiff Crown Court heard the boys ‘appeared proud of their actions’ with the youngest one repeatedly saying ‘n*****, clearly aimed at Kamran who lay fatally wounded on that pavement.’
Passers-by tried to stop the bleeding and save Kamran before emergency services arrived but he was later pronounced dead.
The two boys ran from the scene where they tried to clean the knife using bleach but were later arrested on suspicion of murder.
In statements to the police, the 17-year-old boy claimed he acted in self-defence and denied using a knife or racist language.

The 16-year-old boy denied causing Kamran serious harm or knowing his friend had a knife.
The pair admit manslaughter but deny murder.
Mr Edwards said: ‘We say both were in it together in unlawfully assaulting Kamran and intended at the very least he suffered really serious physical harm.
‘We say both, as a result, both are guilty of murder.’
An inquest heard a post-mortem examination gave Kamran’s cause of death as 1a) stab wound to left chest involving left ventricle.
In a tribute following his death, Kamran’s family said: ‘It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we mourn the tragic loss of Kamran.
‘A devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend, Kamran was the heart of his family and loved within in his community.
‘Known for his, generous spirit, and kind heart, Kamran brought warmth and strength to everyone he met. His absence leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of all who knew him.
‘As we grieve this unimaginable loss, we also honour and celebrate the life he lived and the impact he made. May his memory be a blessing.’
The trial continues.
