Police have declared a major incident in Leicester as several roads have been shut today (November 18).
Explosives teams are reportedly on the scene after a suspected grenade was found at a warehouse belonging to a charity shop.
The closures are in place along Wharf Street South, close to the city centre and near St Matthews Way. The road is closed between the Crafton Street West junction and the Eldon Street junction.
Leicestershire Police said a grenade was found in a box that had been handed to a charity shop.
LeicestershireLive have now confirmed that grenade discovery at the Age UK furniture warehouse on Gladstone Street, which adjoins Wharf Street South.
People have been urged to avoid the area as fire crews and police continue to work at the scene.
