Violent clashes erupted on a Birmingham-bound train, leaving passengers battered and a guard assaulted at Birmingham International railway station, prompting police to release images of suspects they wish to question.

The altercations occurred aboard a London to Birmingham service on Saturday, September 13. Initially, one passenger was reportedly set upon by three other men between 8pm and 9pm.

The victim was punched and kicked to the floor before the scuffle was broken up. However, the injured passenger then became embroiled in another altercation with two different men, reports Birmingham Live. “Officers have released these images in connection with an investigation into a fight on board a train from London to Birmingham in September that resulted in a member of railway staff being assaulted.

“Between 8pm and 9pm on Saturday 13 September, a man was assaulted by a group of three other men as he was punched and kicked onto the floor.

“The fight was broken up, and the man who was assaulted then got into a fight with two other men.”

The statement continued: “Once the train arrived at Birmingham International railway station, a train guard was assaulted as he attempted to prevent a further fight from taking place between two men.

“Officers believe the men in the images may have information which could help their investigation into these incidents.
