As NASA get ready to potential drop a bombshell on the world over the mysterious object 3I/ATLAS, the Daily Star is bringing you live commentary on whether the space agency will put an end to all speculation.
The 3I/ATLAS is speculated as being one of two things, the hopeful interstellar comet that will eventually pass Earth with no threat to us by or the other more wild theory that it may well be an ‘alien spacecraft’.
Theoretical physicist Professor Avi Loeb has suggested it could be an alien “mothership” on a reconnaissance mission as it blasts through the Solar System at 130,000mph.
Prof Loeb said its ‘anomalies’ suggest it ‘might’ be an extraterrestrial spaceship.
However, NASA itself calls the 3I/ATLAS a comet that is only the third object ever identified as entering our solar system from elsewhere in the galaxy.
The comet flew within 19 million miles of Mars in early October.
Participants in NASA live event will include:

- Nicky Fox, associate administrator, Science Mission Directorate
- Shawn Domagal-Goldman, acting director, Astrophysics Division
- Tom Statler, lead scientist for solar system small bodies
