Police have released CCTV images of a woman they wish to speak to in connection with the assault outside Baa Bar in Liverpool, where a victim of the attack had hair ripped out
A woman suffered suspected broken ribs and had chunks of her hair ripped out during a ‘unprovoked’ assault outside a bar in a major city centre.
Merseyside Police were alerted to reports that a woman had been attacked outside Baa Bar on Fleet Street in Liverpool at approximately 1.30am on Sunday, September 7.
Two additional individuals were also assaulted during the incident in the early morning hours of Sunday (November 16).
Following the attack, officers have carried out comprehensive CCTV analysis and witness interviews across the area.
A 23-year-old woman from Kirkby has been detained on suspicion of assault and subsequently released on conditional bail, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Investigators have now released additional CCTV images of a woman they are keen to trace, believing she could provide crucial assistance to their enquiry.
Detective Sergeant Lee Hearne said: “This was a serious and unprovoked attack on a young woman who was out with her friends in our city centre.
“Everyone should be able go out and feel safe in their own community without the fear of being attacked and we are working to find those responsible.
“I am appealing to find the woman shown in this CCTV footage, or anyone who recognises her to come forward as we believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.
“Similarly, if you were at Baa Bar at around 1.30am in the early hours of Sunday morning and saw the assault or those involved in this incident please contact police as soon as possible.
“While several weeks have passed since the incident, any information you hold could be vital to our enquiries.”
