BREAKING Teen’s hand ‘lower clear off’ at 18th party as police make six arrests

Six individuals have been arrested in relation to a shocking incident at a house party that resulted in a young man’s hand being severed.

The 18th birthday party took place at a residence on Colin Close in Huyton, where the horrifying event unfolded. After sustaining the life-altering injury, the young man sought refuge in the Stanley Arms on Roby Road, directly opposite the party venue, just after midnight on Saturday, September 27.

The teen managed to enter the pub moments before it closed for the night, with staff attending to him immediately. An eyewitness recounted how his hand had been “cut clean off” upon entering the establishment. A 17-year-old also sustained minor injuries to his hand during the incident.

Merseyside Police had earlier arrested an 18-year-old male suspecting him of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and section 18 wounding with intent. A 15-year-old boy was also taken into custody under suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Early last month, the force announced the arrest of a third individual, another 18-year-old, on suspicion of s18 wounding with intent. He has since been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.

Merseyside Police confirmed today that they have subsequently arrested three more 17-year-old boys, suspecting them of aiding an offender.

Investigations are ongoing, and all six individuals arrested remain on police bail.

At the time, neighbours told the ECHO that there had been a party on the night of Friday, September 26, with an 18th birthday banner adorning the front door of the house where the assault is believed to have occurred.

Shortly after midnight, the victim dashed into the pub, with police confirming he had sustained a “potentially life-changing” injury. A 17-year-old girl also suffered a minor hand injury during the incident. One local resident described how the doors “burst open” as people fled from the property shortly after the incident.

Another source claimed the man ran into the pub with “part of his arm hacked off”. Dried blood could be seen on the door frame and doorstep of the Colin Close property as police conducted their investigations in the days following the incident.

The pub remained closed on Saturday while professional cleaners attended the scene. One witness said: “There was blood everywhere and the pub was seconds away from locking the doors when he ran in.”

A neighbour recounted seeing a large group of people in the alleyway next to the row of houses on Colin Close, which links Roby Road and Lawton Road.

He said: “I was watching the aftermath of the Ryder Cup and I just saw this large group of young people appear in the alleyway just after midnight. They were there behind the houses and there was more than 10 but I couldn’t be certain how many exactly.”

A local resident revealed it had been peaceful throughout the night despite the attack, describing the location as typically a “quiet area”. A spokesperson for The Stanley Arms confirmed: “On Friday night our team were called on to help a local member of the community who came into our venue after closing time seeking help for a serious injury.

“Emergency services were called and the individual received treatment.”
