UK Defence Secretary John Healey has revealed that behind-the-scenes plans have seen British troops mapped out in order to be able to access Ukraine if tensions escalate
World War Three fears have yet again spiked after it was revealed that British troops have already been mapped out ready to send to Ukraine if tensions escalate.
Defence Secretary John Healey said that the UK has already carried out reconnaissance on the ground in preparation for deals to be potentially made in the future. Earlier this year, Sir Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron announced a plan for a new force named the “Coalition of Willing”. This is an organisation of troops from different European countries with the aim to protect Ukraine.
When asked about the preparedness of the coalition, Mr Healey said: “It’s detailed planning. But ultimately we will adjust it depending on the terms and circumstances of the agreement.
“But we have led recces in Ukraine, so we know what units we would use.
“We know how we would deploy them, and we know what roles they would play, depending, depending, of course, on finalising those plans with other members of the coalition of the willing to fit the needs of the Ukrainians and the terms of any peace agreements.”
He continued: “We the UK have done recces is in the Ukraine, I’m not saying who, I am not saying when we’ve done that but we have done that work that you would expect us to do as part of detailed, advanced military planning.”
This comes after rumours the US are planning a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine which could force the latter country to give up land and other factors.
Most recently, US Vice President JD Vance has shared Donald Trump’s alleged “fundamental view” on Russia and Ukraine by asking why the two countries don’t stop killing each other and begin trading goods instead.
Vance made the statement during an interview with Breitbart News journalist Matthew Boyle, which was then later relayed by the White House.
As part of Trump’s peace plan for the two countries, Vance claimed that the US President’s views are for the two countries to participate in some “cultural exchange”.
Vance said: “Why don’t you stop killing each other and start trading with one another? Why, instead of Russians and Ukrainians killing one another, don’t they trade with one another, travel between the two countries, and participate in some cultural exchange?
“This is his (Trump’s) fundamental view on these things. And in principle, if we get more peace in the world, it will be good for American workers. It will be good for the American people. And the president will continue to strive for peace. He has done very well so far, but he will continue to work on it.”
