Ruth Gibbins believes time hasn’t made it “easier” to grieve the tragic One Direction star
Liam Payne’s sister said missing him is “now part of breathing” on the year anniversary of his funeral.
Ruth Gibbins believes time hasn’t made it “easier” to grieve her tragic brother, who tragically died aged 31 in October 2024 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
She told her social media followers of the “infinite loss” she is feeling over the One Direction pop hero.
She added in her Instagram Stories post: “A year ago today, the hardest goodbye I’ll ever have, a funeral I never should have had to plan and everyday since, I never should have had to live without him.
“Infinite love, infinite loss.”
Ruth also shared a tribute to her late brother last month where she told how she was “paralysed” by grief daily and that his death doesn’t compare to her losing other loved ones, which she described as “just intense sadness”.
She also called the late pop star’s death the “loss of my life” and said he was the one person she “will miss at every single occasion in my life”.
Liam’s other sister Nicola Gibbins also shared a poem about struggling to cope with grief called I Would Trade It All.
Some of the lines from the poem include: “The grief it never leaves me, forever I will mourn, some days it’s just a shower of rain, other days it’s like a storm.”
Earlier this month an inquest into the late pop star’s death at Buckinghamshire Coroner’s Court was delayed until next year after a coroner called for full reports and eyewitness statements over how he died.
In February, a court in Argentina dropped charges of criminal negligence against three out of the five people charged in connection with Liam’s death.
