Kelly Brook admitted the best job she ever had was as an F1 grid girl – before the role was controversially axed.

The British icon is currently down under on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, finally wowing fans by stripping down at the camp’s pool earlier this week. However, before turning head’s in the jungle, she brought the heat to the F1 grid.

Images have often resurfaced online of Kelly at the 1998 British Grand Prix – where she cuts an eye-popping figure in promo dresses, wrapped in the Union Jack.

Her asymmetric top, advertising Fosters beer, showed off her jaw-dropping curves.

Kelly was just 20-years-old when she strutted her stuff on the grid, and seven years later she would be named FHM’s sexiest woman.

Grid girls were axed back in 2018, and Kelly was quick to slam the decision when appearing on Loose Women: “It’s a well-paid job. It’s one of the best jobs I ever had.

“You dress glamorously and obviously it’s about being presentable but I never felt I was taken advantage of.”

However, the decision was made as grid girls were deemed “outdated”, and F1’s managing director Sean Bratches said: “While the practice of employing grid girls has been a staple of Formula 1 Grands Prix for decades.

“We feel this custom does not resonate with our brand values and clearly is at odds with modern day societal norms.

“We don’t believe the practice is appropriate or relevant to Formula 1 and its fans, old and new, across the world.”

Kelly further backed her decision on social media, posting: “FlashBack as Formula One Grid Girl #KeeptheGridGirls.”She then blasted trolls for trying to take away grid girls’ rights to “make their own decisions”.

Writing for The Sun, Kelly said: “It’s probably not even occurred to these PC campaigners that the women might actually like the work.

“These walk-on girls are intelligent women – a lot are probably trying to pay for their college or university education.

“We’re not in Victorian times. It’s not like they’re walking out naked. They are dressed smartly. What’s demeaning about that?”
