Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty is set to marry Holly Ramsay next month but his mum Caroline has been uninvited from the wedding after a confrontation at the engagement party
The pivotal moment when Adam Peaty’s relationship with his mum went downhill has was caught on camera. It’s become common knowledge that the Olympic swimming champion has been at odds with his mother lately, but now the exact reason has been unveiled.
Adam is preparing to walk down the aisle with Holly Ramsay next month, but his mum Caroline has been struck off the guest list for the big day, alongside several other family members. Fresh reports suggest that the rift between mother and son began at their engagement celebration.
The primary cause is believed to stem from Caroline’s displeasure that certain family members were absent from the initial festivities. Yet viewers might witness this drama unfold on television, as the engagement bash was captured on camera for Gordon Ramsay’s documentary series.
The Netflix programme will showcase the legendary chef balancing the launch of five new London restaurants whilst managing his personal affairs. The Sun revealed that an insider disclosed: “Adam’s family were at the engagement party, when relations were much better.
“Things went downhill from there. His mum was unhappy some of the family weren’t there and confronted Gordon at the event. Guests were made to sign non-disclosure agreements and hand in phones as the party was filmed”, reports the Mirror.
This follows Adam’s recent decision to speak out publicly about the ongoing dispute.
In his statement, he declared: “For those who know me personally, you know that I work so hard on trying to improve myself as a person who wants to contribute to making the world a better place.”
He went on: “I am continuing to learn about myself and how I can be the man I want to be; a worthy partner, father, businessman, friend and athlete; even through these challenging times. Bethany, Holly and I will get through this – we do not ask for sympathy.
“We just need people to be aware that there are always two sides to every story. To those of you who have reached out and shown kindness and understanding – thank you. It is deeply appreciated”.
Adam’s aunt, Louise Williams, criticised Ramsay for not inviting Caroline, calling the decision “divisive and hurtful”, for which Caroline publicly thanked her.
Tensions continued to simmer with claims Caroline offended the bride-to-be by wanting to wear cream on the wedding day.
