Andrew Lownie, who wrote a book about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson called Entitled, claimed Epstein spoke to a ‘hitman’ who was a former British SAS member
Jeffrey Epstein made plans to hire a hitman to kill Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, a leading Royal author has claimed. British historian Andrew Lownie said the paedophile financier feared the former Duke and Duchess of York could help expose his crimes.
Epstein was found dead in a New York prison cell in 2019 while he was awaiting trial. Lownie, who wrote the book Entitled about Andrew and Sarah, claimed the depraved financier became paranoid before he died.
“He spoke to a hitman who was a former member of the British SAS and said he wanted the Yorks dead,” Lownie told the Daily Beast podcast.
“He wanted to remove them. I’ve been told this by two reliable sources, one in Paris and a former FBI agent in Florida, and I can believe it’s true.
“Epstein said all sorts of things, and you can’t always believe what he said. I don’t know how far he got with the plans.
“But I think he was very nervous before he died. It’s extraordinary and like a scene from The Day of the Jackal – but nothing about this saga is normal.”
Lownie added that Sarah Ferguson would have been “terrified” of Epstein and those fears may have been why she kept in touch with the convicted predator.
The author added: “She was worried about her safety and that of her daughters. Epstein mixed with some pretty nasty people, so the fear was real.”
It comes as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson could find themselves in an uncomfortable family predicament where their daughters gain access to an exclusive venue whilst they themselves face rejection at the door.
Reports suggest the former Duke and Duchess of York may no longer be welcome at the prestigious London members’ club Annabel’s.
The Mayfair establishment, which has hosted luminaries including Frank Sinatra, Princess Diana, Mick Jagger, and countless other celebrities since Mark Birley established it in 1963, boasts a legendary reputation for exclusivity.
Despite the hefty annual membership cost of approximately £3,750, sources indicate that Andrew and Fergie would likely be refused entry should they attempt to visit the club personally.
A source allegedly informed the Daily Mail that the duo would face rejection, explaining that their “type of notoriety is not what the club needs,” reports the Express.
