BREAKING London Tube station evacuated as police and ambulance flood space in main incident

Emergency services have flooded a London Tube station in a major incident this morning (Saturday).

Police and ambulances rushed to Hammersmith Underground Station in London after reports of a casualty on the track. Witnesses say access to the station was shut off and and services on the District Line are delayed.

Hammersmith station has recently reopened but photos from the scene reveal multiple police vehicles, ambulances and fire engines. Transport for London has now confirmed that there has sadly been a casualty on the track.

A witness at the scene has reported seeing three ambulances, three fire engines, two police cars and two Incident Response Units. Nick Soar, 52, also told The Mirror he saw paramedics “rushing in” with equipment at 8.36am.

He said: “My thoughts are very much with any injured people and the emergency services who will face I’m sure horrible scenes. All very brave.

“They were rushing with care to help anyone inside and TFL staff very helpfully and compassionately guided people to the other stations.”

The head teacher also reported entrances to the District and Piccadilly Lines were closed this morning. He recalled signs that told travellers to “make alternative arrangements”.

There are now delays on the District Line between Earl’s Court and Ealing Broadway. Piccadilly Line services have resumed between Acton Town and Hyde Park Corner. However, London Underground services are now stopping again at Hammersmith, with the station now open.
