Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly told a victim of Jeffrey Epstein that another woman had complained about the late paedophile tycoon’s “inappropriate” behaviour.

The alleged exchange came a year before the shamed prince is alleged to have had sex with Virginia Giuffre when she was 17, which he has always denied.

He is said to have introduced a glamorous actress he was dating back in the late 1990s to his pal Epstein during a visit to Windsor Castle and it’s claimed that the late financier later sexually assaulted her. The woman received compensation in June this year as one of Epstein’s victims.

US lawyer Perry Wander now claims the woman confided in Andrew 25 years ago that the convicted paedophile had behaved “inappropriately” towards her. Andrew, 65, allegedly replied that “he wasn’t surprised” because someone else had made a similar claim.

Mr Wander, an LA-based entertainment lawyer, said the woman agreed to come forward after being inspired by Giuffre’s “courage”, the Mail on Sunday reported. He said: “She was inspired… by her desire to stand with other survivors, and by the profound impact of Virginia Giuffre’s passing, which served as a catalyst for her to speak publicly.”

Mr Wander said: “One memory that stayed with her – and became a compelling factor in identifying Prince Andrew – was a conversation in early 2000 in which she confided in him about her time with Epstein and disclosed that he had behaved inappropriately towards her. In response, he admitted that he wasn’t surprised because he heard that someone else had made a similar allegation.

“She remembers thinking: If he knew that, why would he encourage me to spend time with Epstein?”

He added: “She has expressed feelings of ambivalence toward Prince Andrew and initially did not wish to identify him publicly. But Virginia Giuffre’s courage taught her that fear should not stand in the way of justice.”

Andrew has been contacted for comment by the Daily Star. He has repeatedly and consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Meanwhile, the disgraced royal is still a vice-admiral in the Royal Navy despite the government’s pledge to strip him of the honour four weeks ago at the King’s request. Senior military chiefs branded the delay in axing his last remaining title as “extraordinary” and called on the government to “get on with it”.

The Ministry of Defence insisted the matter was “ongoing”, adding: “Defence continues to act in line with His Majesty’s intent regarding the process to remove the style, titles and honours of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.”
