Pep Guardiola has been told to sign Bournemouth sensation Antoine Semenyo.

Semenyo has emerged as one of the brightest talents in the Premier League following a string of impressive performances. He has become a target of a host of leading clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.

But Shaun Wright-Phillips reckons Manchester City boss Guardiola should be the one to win the race to sign Semenyo, after reports emerged that Guardiola’s side are considering triggering his £65million release clause in January. The former England and City winger told BestBettingSites : “I would say he’s one of them [best wingers in Premier League].

“I’d say you can’t write off what [Jeremy] Doku’s done at Manchester City.

“There’s a good couple of wingers out there I think that’s done really well this season.

“But he’s one of my favourite players to watch, and he’s one of my favourite types of wingers.

“I think you can play him anywhere, too.. You can play him up front. Playing left, right, he uses both feet very well.

“He knows where the back of the net is and he just seems hungry.

“He just seems to be enjoying his football right now and there will be a lot of takers for him.

“A move to any of the big clubs would make sense. He’s good enough for Chelsea, but Chelsea have too many wingers really, so they wouldn’t need him.

“His end product is just so high, it’s so good. I think he would suit Liverpool.

“But the way [Andoni] Iraola plays, though, reminds me of how Pep sets up his City side, but just a little bit more aggressive and on the front foot.

“So you never know, he might end up at City.

“I think he’s a fantastic player. It’s nice to see a player who is just in such excellent form that he has so many options at the top of the table.”
