Arsenal’s title charge hit a speed bump over the weekend, as the Gunners were held to a hard-earned draw against Chelsea.

It allowed Manchester City, who rescued a potentially embarrassing result against Leeds in the 90th minute thanks to Phil Foden, to close the gap to just five points after 13 games played.

It’s a familiar position for Arsenal, who have twice been charged down by Pep Guardiola’s side in the final months of the season. However, Arsenal icon Lauren believes that this season is different for Mikel Arteta, and the Gunners have what it takes to go all the way.

Speaking to Daily Star Sport , via PlayFrank, he said: “I do indeed. This is the most balanced Arsenal squad for a long time, and the quality is excellent across the pitch.

“They have two top players for each position, and any of them can step in and do a great job for the team.

“It’s great that some of the injured players will be coming back soon, but when you have the likes of Raya, Saliba, Rice, Zubimendi, Saka, Timber and Calafiori fit and ready to play, they are outstanding players to lead the team forward.

“It is so important to focus on what you are doing as a team, not worry about any other team and take each game as it comes.

“This is the single focus for the team right now: to be in the best shape for this game.”

The Gunners are back in action on Wednesday, as they clash with Brentford at the Emirates Stadium, while Manchester City have closed the gap at the top to just two points.
