Match of the Day legend Kevin Hunter Day has been involved in a serious accident, it has been reported.
The 64-year-old presenter, who has been a regular on Match of the Day 2, was involved in a serious accident, as reported by his close friends at the Five Year Plan.
A post from their X account shared: “Our dear friend Kevin Hunter Day has had a quite serious accident and is currently in hospital having broken bones in his back, ribs and elsewhere.

“We’re wishing him a speedy recovery and sending him all our love.”
Day was also a regular on Gabby Logan’s Sunday morning radio programme on BBC Radio 5 Live and the Crystal Palace fan is often seen on the fan-made podcast ‘Five Year Plan Fanzine’.
Since 2019, Day has presented ‘The Price of Football’ podcast with football finances expert Kieran Maguire.
Fans took to the comments section of the social media post to send their support and best wishes to Day, with one shocked fan reacting: “Blimey. Best wishes!”
A second wrote: “That’s awful, poor Kevin. I hope he’s on the mend soon. Please pass on our Best wishes to him.” While a third said: “Oh no! So sorry, Kevin. Hope you’re soon on the mend.”
Another user added: “Very sorry to read this! Thoughts & best wishes Kev”. A fifth added: “Get well soon Kev”. As a sixth wished Day a “speedy recovery Sir”.
