Donald Trump helped get the 2026 World Cup draw underway as he drew the USA out of the pot.
Trump was invited by FIFA President Gianni Infantino to make the draw with leaders of the other host nations, Canadian Prime Minster Mark Carney and Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
All three leaders drew their own countries and were placed in groups A to C. And Trump was the third and final leader to put his hand in the pot as Carney and Pardo drew Canada and Mexico respectively.
Trump was also given the first ever FIFA Peace Prize for helping to end multiple wars at the event in Washington today (December 5).
FIFA said the award would be given to “individuals who have taken exceptional and extraordinary actions for peace” when announced last month. They did not reveal Trump as the recipient at the time.
