Two men have been arrested following reports of a firearm being discharged at a property in Greater Manchester, according to the police. Officers dashed to a house on Wally Square in Salford around 6.50pm on December 4. It’s believed that a man approached the property and fired the weapon after arriving on an electric bike with another, said Greater Manchester Police.

The force reported that a woman in her 20s suffered minor injuries during the incident. GMP has since arrested two men, aged 24 and 28, on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

They’re currently being held for questioning and investigations are ongoing. The police reassured that there is no wider threat to the community and are now urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Detective Inspector Louise Edwards, from GMP’s Major Incident Team, stated: “Any report of a firearms discharge is shocking and is something that will never be tolerated on the streets of Greater Manchester.

“We have been working at pace since Thursday and we now have made two arrests as part of our enquiries. Further work is to be completed in the coming hours and days.

“While we are still establishing the exact circumstances, this was a dangerous act that could have resulted in a much worse or deadly outcome. No-one should feel unsafe or threatened in their own homes, and we are working to ensure those responsible face justice.”
