A young man and woman have died in a horror crash in Aberdeenshire which also left four in hospital, including two schoolchildren – the devastating smash happened on December 6
A young man and woman have tragically died in a horrific car crash in Aberdeenshire. Four people were also taken to hospital including two school-aged children.
The fatal collision happened at approximately 7.25pm on Saturday, December 6, along the stretch between the Toll of Birness and Mintlaw at Clola. It involved a grey Land Rover Evoque and a black Vauxhall Corsa.
Emergency services raced to the scene where a 24-year-old male passenger in the Corsa was declared dead. The 24-year-old female driver of the Corsa was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, but sadly died as a result of her injuries.
A 62-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman who were travelling in the Land Rover were also taken to hospital for medical attention. Two boys, aged seven and five, who were also in the Evoque, were hospitalised as a precautionary measure.
The road was cordoned off for several hours to facilitate crash investigators’ examination of the accident site, reports the Daily Record.
Sergeant Pete Henderson expressed his condolences, stating: “Our thoughts are with the families of those who died and everyone affected by this incident.”
He added: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened.”
We are also asking anyone driving in the area around the time of the crash to please check any dash-cam footage they have to see if it has captured something that could assist with our investigation. “.
