A woman has paid a heartfelt tribute to her “gorgeous” sister who tragically passed away. Paige Luby, 31, sadly died on Saturday morning after a brief fight with pneumonia.

Paige, a Huyton native, had been dealing with various health complications and her untimely death has left her family heartbroken. They are now preparing for life without the mum-of-two, who leaves behind two daughters aged eight and 12.

Speaking to the ECHO, Paige’s younger sister Charlie Luby, 24, from Prescot, painted a picture of an “outgoing person” adored by “absolutely everyone”. Charlie shared: “Me and her were like glue. I was always with her, she was always with me, we never left each other’s sides. She was such a good mum. The girls had everything they needed.

“All the messages I’ve been getting off all her friends at school, all the stories I’m hearing, they say that she was just a funny girl.”, reports the Liverpool Echo.

“She was a daredevil, she’d do anything. She’d be the one to go and make everyone laugh.”

The loss of Paige has deeply affected the family. Charlie admitted: “Seeing what my mum’s been through, it’s horrible, there’s no other way to describe it. She was my only sister as well.

“We have got a brother but me and her were like glue. Any problem, we would just go to each other.

“Now those two little girls – obviously they’ve got the most loving family around them but no mum. It’s so sad, just before Christmas.”

Despite only launching a fundraiser to help with funeral expenses yesterday afternoon, over £1,000 has already been generously donated.

Charlie revealed: “I wasn’t even going to do this, but I don’t think she would have wanted to leave this life with nothing left for the girls.

“It’s so much help. We’re just a small family, we all get by, but like a lot of people, you get by with each pay slip.

“She was just so happy and outgoing. She fought so hard.”

On the GoFundMe page, Charlie wrote: “Our family is heartbroken. My sister Paige, only 31, has passed away after a long battle with health issues. She leaves behind her two precious daughters, just 12 and eight, who are now facing the world without their mum.

“We are trying our best to stay strong for the girls, but we need help to give Paige the beautiful farewell she deserves and to support her daughters through this heartbreaking time.

“Any contribution – no matter how small – means the world to us and helps keep Paige’s girls safe, stable, and surrounded with love.”
