A father and son duo who sexually assaulted a child they were “besotted” with have shockingly claimed they merely got “carried away”, according to court proceedings.
Victor Blowers, 69, and his son Alexander Blowers, 41, have been handed down a combined sentence of 32 years by Ipswich Crown Court. The court was told that the horrific abuse came to light after the brave child confided in a teacher about a man using his mobile phone to take inappropriate photos of them.
Upon the arrest of Victor Blowers from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, he confessed to the abuse, stating he was “besotted” with the child. He chillingly told officers that he found the child “pretty” and had “just got carried away”.

Further investigations revealed that Victor’s son, Alexander, had also sexually abused the child. The victim recounted being driven to secluded spots by the father-son pair. They remembered sitting sandwiched between Victor and Alexander Blowers in the backseat of a car before the abuse took place.
The child was also raped by Alexander Blowers. Alexander Blowers pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault, one count of rape, and a charge of creating indecent images of a child.
