Joe Rogan Jabs At Trump’s ‘Crazy’ White House Project On New Podcast

Joe Rogan appeared to question President Donald Trump’s UFC event at the White House on June 14, which happens to be Trump’s 80th birthday. (Watch the video below.)

Rogan, the popular podcaster and UFC commentator, scoffed at details provided by Trump recently.

“So, Jamie, what were you just saying?” Rogan began by addressing producer Jamie Vernon on “The Joe Rogan Experience” on Tuesday. “I stopped you because it sounded so crazy.”

Vernon replied offscreen that, according to Trump, the event would host “eight to nine” title fights, which perked up the skeptic in Rogan.

“First of all, there’s only eight weight classes, so how’s there gonna be nine title fights?” Rogan said, laughing. “‘That’s kind of a crazy thing.’”

Rogan then broke out his Trump impression, saying, “We’re gonna have 20 title fights ― all the title fights that’s ever been.”

While no card has been set, Rogan said not having ex-heavyweight champ Jon Jones would be a “travesty.” Jones expressed interest in fighting at the White House, but UFC boss Dana White deemed him unreliable. White previously said Jones, considered perhaps the best mixed martial arts combatant of all time, had retired.

Rogan scanned a report of Trump’s update on the fights and laughed at the president for predicting eight or nine championship bouts. “It would literally have to be every weight class fighting for the title, which would be nuts,” Rogan said.

As Rogan read that the arena in front of the White House would seat 5,000 to 6,000, with 100,000 more spectators watching giant monitors in the back, he asked: “What kind of fucking security are they gonna have for this?”

“Gotta be insane,” said podcast guest Brendan Allen, a UFC middleweight.

Rogan asked Allen if he’d like to participate. “It just seems like a lot, a lot more than what it needs to be,” he replied. “I’m sure it’s gonna be kinda cool to watch.”

(His diplomatic response was in sharp contrast to the fighter Brandon Royval going scorched earth on the event.)

Rogan had a high-profile pre-election interview with Trump and endorsed him, but he’s not always in lockstep with Trump on policy. The host has criticized the administration for extreme measures in the immigration crackdown, including the use of hype videos.
