EXCLUSIVE: Oasis’ frontman, who stopped drinking to get in shape for the band’s record-breaking 41-gig comeback tour, has admitted to fans he is ‘hungover’
Liam Gallagher has definitely maybe fallen off the wagon – a fortnight after suggesting he had quit booze for good.
The Oasis frontman, who stopped drinking to get in shape for the band’s record-breaking 41-gig comeback tour, admitted to fans he was ‘hungover’. One messaged him on X: “You had a bit to DRINK last night didn’t you Liam?”
The Cigarettes & Alcohol singer replied: “Accidentally got licked up to ras.” When another fan asked ‘what dimension’ he was in now Liam said: “A hungover 1.”
Two weeks ago the star suggested he may quit booze completely after he admitted he’d had a ‘few beers’ to toast the end of the tour but ‘wasn’t feeling it’.
He had told fans he was looking forward to letting his hair down following the final concert in Brazil.
But Liam admitted his post-performance beer fell flat and he was ‘enjoying’ being sober again. He wrote on X: “I had a few beers – wasn’t feeling it.
“I’m back on the righteous path free from temptation. I’m enjoying being sober my rite – said is crystal clear.”
Earlier this month he admitted the tour had ‘saved my life’. Fans had praised the former caner for ‘staying healthy’ for the gigs.
One messaged him: “I’m sorry u have to live like a monk during the tour – but damn, you’re killing it!! Thank you thank you thank you.”
Liam, 53, replied: “Oasis saved my life. It’s about time I sorted my nappa (head) out. I know how much this means to people so stopping drinking and smoking and snorting Gary baldies are sacrifices that needed to be made. Thems the rules.”
Another follower asked if he missed the ‘occasional Guinness’ to which he replied: “Yeah I miss talking absolute b******* when I’m bladdered.”
Liam has gradually ditched his vices over the years. In 2017 he said if he could live his life over again he would ‘maybe rein it in on the drugs and drink’.
He said then he no longer used recreational drugs ‘as much as I used to’. The star said: “I don’t drink as much as I used to. Don’t smoke weed – bores the s*** out of me.
“I smoke cigarettes but not a load – last week I didn’t smoke any. I’ve got a bit of discipline. But yeah, every now and then. It depends what’s going on.”
Though he has admitted his ‘dream’ Christmas present would be a ‘biblical’ Oasis European tour he has told fans Oasis do not plan to perform together next year. They have however created the theme tune for the new Bond movie.
