Naga Munchetty raked in tens of thousands during the summer from commercial events while under investigation for bullying and her job was ‘hanging by a thread’.

This included being paid ‘over £10,000’ by Mastercard to host a ‘fireside chat’ on how to ‘succeed’ from ‘strength’.

The BBC publishes a quarterly register of its top staff’s earnings from external events – and under-fire Naga has continually been near the top of that list.

Now The Daily Mail can reveal that she made up to £56,000 last year by performing at things such as speeches, hosting question and answer sessions for firms, and handing out gongs at corporate bashes.

Despite being one of the Beeb’s highest paid stars earning between £355,000 and £359,999, Naga has continued to rake in a fortune in the summer.

In September, while under fire for alleged bullying on BBC Breakfast, she took part in a huge Mastercard conference on cybersecurity, which took place in the glamorous surroundings of the five-star Waldorf Hotel, Rome Cavalieri.

Naga was a keynote speaker during the two-day event and headlined an intimate chat entitled ‘Strength in Motion – the Pathway to Success’, which also featured former boxer Nicola Adams.

In July, she was paid between £5k and £10k to host The Grocer Magazine Awards held at the Royal Albert Hall.

And, in August, she was paid up to £1,000 to be a contributor at the Queens Park Literary Festival in London to talk about her book It’s Probably Nothing, which draws on her own experience regarding medical misogyny and women being repeatedly failed.

Thus, during the three summer months, she raked in upto £21,000 – although the Mastercard appearance could be any figure over £10k.

The Daily Mail have contacted both Naga’s representatives and the BBC for comment. They refused to comment on individual staff matters.

In August, TV sources claimed several colleagues had logged concerns over her ‘hard’ and ‘bullying’ behaviour on the breakfast show, as well as her Radio 5 Live show.

At the time bosses launched a review, but this has now been escalated to a formal probe after further complaints were made, according to reports.

Naga’s conduct first came under scrutiny when BBC Breakfast’s editor Richard Frediani reportedly took an extended period of leave, after an internal review of bullying and misconduct allegations was opened into the show.

In September it was reported that he had been cleared of wrongdoing and a formal investigation would not be launched – something presenting duo Naga and Charlie Stayt were said to be furious about.

Meanwhile Naga was reportedly spoken to by executives after a junior staffer accused the journalist of bullying them.

She was also allegedly hauled into a meeting after she made a sex jibe during an ad break in 2022 while hosting her radio show.

The presenter is believed to have used a crude slang term for a sex act and reportedly asked a colleague if they had ever done it.

Naga’s co-host Charlie Stayt also remains ‘under review’, according to the publication.

Naga is no longer represented by agents M&C Saatchi, who also dropped BBC One Show host Jermaine Jenas after his sexting scandal.

Her new agents have reportedly ‘held talks with rival station LBC’ to explore other opportunities.

The journalist is paid almost double of her co-host Charlie, 63, remained in the £190,000 bracket as tensions between the pair are said to be ‘rife’.
