Liverpool are 10 points off the top of the Premier League table, and the Reds’ miserable title defence has piled the pressure on Arne Slot.

Slot guided Liverpool to the title in his debut season at Anfield, but his second campaign has been nothing short of a calamity. After the Reds began the season unconvincingly, but with five successive victories to their name, they have only won twice in 10 league games since. Slot’s precarious situation has not been supported by Mohamed Salah’s outburst against him.

Questions have been asked about the Dutchman’s job, which were somewhat curbed by Liverpool’s improvement in their controversial Champions League win away at Inter Milan on Tuesday.

In a similar fashion to the current Liverpool flops, Leicester’s form collapsed after they won the title, seeing the club falling into a relegation battle that ultimately cost Claudio Ranieri his job in February.

Discussing Liverpool’s struggle from a similar position to the Foxes team he captained to Premier League glory, Wes Morgan exclusively told the Daily Star Sport, via Casino.org, the go-to platform helping British players in finding online casino sites, that it’s beyond a ‘reality check’ for the Reds.

“I think the Liverpool thing is just a big shock to everyone, with Leicester we had a great season, and yeah, we shouldn’t have dropped off like we, we did, but it’s more of a kind of a reality check for Leicester,” Morgan said.

“Where the great Liverpool on the back of an unbelievable season, got some of the best players in the world, spent half a billion on players over the summer.

“It’s a big difference between Leicester and Liverpool in my opinion. No one would envision that drop off from Liverpool, and it’s a big shock and surprise and I can’t put a finger on to why.

“I know they’re not very strong at the back in terms of depth, but obviously the two centre halves, Ibrahima Konate and Virgil Van Dijk, solid defenders, unbelievable last season. So that’s a bit of a surprise.”

Morgan took aim at Liverpool’s summer signings as one of the key reasons for the drop in form. “Salah’s not firing, you know, that’s a big surprise. And the players that have come in, Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, the likes of them, Frimpong, Kirkez, they’re not stepping up to the mark.

“There’s a lot of factors going into why Liverpool are not quite at their best, but even saying that, there’s still a lot of players there that should be able to put in performances and should be in a better position than they are.”
