Trump’s little-known hyperlink to Rob Reiner’s spouse revealed as son is arrested after mother and father had been discovered useless at residence: Live updates
Rob Reiner’s wife Michele Singer was a photographer who had previously shot the cover for Donald Trump’s 1987 breakout book The Art of the Deal.
Singer, 70, was also an actress and later worked with her husband Rob Reiner on his films Misery and Spinal Tap II.
President Donald Trump claimed Reiner and Singer’s murders were the result of what he called ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ in a post on Truth Social on Monday.
Trump said that Reiner, a ‘once very talented movie director and comedy star,’ had passed away ‘reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease’ known as TDS – or Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Reiner‘s son Nick was booked by the LA County Sheriff’s Office on Monday after an unidentified family member was questioned in connection with the murders of the director and his wife.
According to a police source who spoke to the Associated Press, investigators believe the couple suffered brutal stab wounds and were found with their throats slit. Nick, who has two siblings, is currently being held in custody on $4m bail.

Michele Singer photographed Trump’s Art of the Deal cover
Rob Reiner’s wife, Michele Singer, was a photographer who captured the cover image of Donald Trump used on his book, Trump: The Art of the Deal.
After the news of the couple’s death broke, the president claimed they died because of ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome.’
The president said that Reiner, a ‘once very talented movie director and comedy star,’ had passed away ‘reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease’ known as TDS – or Trump Derangement Syndrome.
TDS, those on the right explain, is a disease of hatred or unreasonable disdain of the Republican president, a joke-turned-diagnosis that’s so notorious that members of Congress have introduced legislation to study the affliction.
‘He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness,’ the president’s post continued.

Rob Reiner spoke about Nick’s struggle with addiction during press tour
Rob Reiner spoke about his son Nick’s struggle with addiction during a press tour for their film Being Charlie.
Nick co-wrote the semi-autobiographical movie Being Charlie about his struggles with drug addiction and the impact it has on a person’s family.
He worked on the film from rehab and collaborated with his director father on the project, which depicts the strained relationship between an actor father and his addict son and tracks closely with the Reiner family’s own experience, they said at the time.
It ends with an apology from the father about the occasionally harsh way he treats his son, including enforced stints in rehab, something Reiner said he gave his son in real life.
In a 2016 interview with the BUILD series while promoting their film, the elder Reiner said, ‘You don’t set out to have a cathartic experience or be therapeutic in some way.’
‘The fact that we were dealing with things that Nick had gone through and how I had related to it and how his mother had related to it… it forced me to have to see more clearly and understand more deeply what Nick had gone through, and I think it forced him to see things that I had experienced during this process,’ he added.
‘I mean, we did get into fights over things, but ultimately it forced us to make the film better. The whole process for me – I can just speak for myself – it did make me understand him a lot more, and it did make me a better father. Hopefully it did.’

What happened to the Stand By Me cast?
The cast of Stand By Me reunited for a 40th-anniversary tour just before its director, Rob Reiner, tragically passed away.
Stand By Me – starring River Phoenix, Kiefer Sutherland, Corey Feldman, Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton – tells the story of a group of friends who searched for the body of a missing boy.
The 1986 coming-of-age film, based on Stephen King’s novella The Body, influenced generations of cinema – including Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things – and turned the then-young actors into household names.
But its actors, like their characters, embarked on different paths after the film, some of which saw the tragic downfalls of drug and alcohol abuse.
River tragically died at the age of just 23 after a drug overdose.
