Lando Norris’ girlfriend and a current Premier League star had to deny claims they were having an affair
Lando Norris’ girlfriend once felt compelled to dismiss speculation she was at the centre of a love triangle involving two footballers.
The newly-crowned Formula 1 world champion is smitten with Portuguese model and actress Magui Corceiro. After making their romance official earlier this year, the couple were seen sharing a passionate kiss following Norris’ title-clinching third-place finish at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Norris isn’t Corceiro’s first sporty lover, as she previously had a lengthy romance with former Chelsea player Joao Felix, 26. Corceiro and Felix’s partnership hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons in 2022 when she was forced to rubbish claims of a romantic encounter with Tottenham’s Pedro Porro, 26, who was then playing for Sporting CP.
Speculation about an affair erupted after Corceiro and Porro, who are friends, were filmed sharing an intimate moment at a nightclub. Some onlookers alleged the duo had locked lips, but Corceiro, 23, firmly rejected any suggestion that something improper had occurred between herself and Porro.
She said: “If I wanted to be kissing someone, in an intimate moment, it would not be in Lust [nightclub], much less in the VIP area with that little balcony and in view of the entire nightclub.
“I also don’t understand why those gentlemen who took the initiative to record that video and report it in such a nice way didn’t remember to record me talking and hugging the other people who were there, the other guys, the players, because if we want to talk about Magui Corceiro always with the players and that this is a scene, there was a lot of material.”
She continued: “There were no kisses, there was nothing.” With online speculation about her connection to Porro reaching fever pitch, she emphasised: “It’s getting out of control and it’s leaving me in a very boring position, and Joao too.
“I met Porro a few months ago unexpectedly at a group dinner. Since then we have had a great time, we are very good friends, I love him, he is incredible and the people who know him know him very well.”
Porro, who signed for Tottenham in January 2023, also felt compelled to quash the romantic gossip surrounding him and Corceiro. He wrote: “The situation that is happening yesterday and today is very uncomfortable.
“I have a special relationship with her, no one is being unfaithful to anyone. My image is not going to be stained by anything and less by things like these.
“I can do whatever I want. Stop staining the image of the three of us because it is not like that.”
Felix, now plying his trade with Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, remained silent on the speculation, with their relationship ending a few months later. Corceiro will be rooting for Norris again as the McLaren driver is on the six-person shortlist at Thursday’s Sports Personality of the Year.
