Two teenagers have died after a Tesla crashed into a tree in Hurst Green, Surrey – a 30-year-old driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving
Two teenagers have died and another is fighting for his life following a crash involving a white Tesla into a tree in Surrey. Emergency services were alerted to the incident in Hurst Green just before 10pm on Saturday (December 20).
The collision occurred on Holland Road, near the junction with Popes Lane. One of the victims, in his late teens, was declared dead at the scene. Another, also in his late teens, sadly passed away later in hospital, according to police.
Both families have been informed and are receiving support from officers. A third teenager is currently in hospital with “life threatening injuries”.
The driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, reports Surrey Live. A police spokesperson said: “A 30-year-old man from Oxted was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.”
Holland Road was shut between the junction with Popes Lane and the junction with Warren Lane while officers conducted their investigation.
Surrey Police is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this tragic accident to come forward. Officers are also requesting any CCTV, dashcam, or helmet cam footage that may have recorded all or part of this incident.
The spokesperson said: “If you have any information that might assist our investigation, please contact us quoting PR/ 45250153201,” urged the spokesperson. You can call the non-emergency number, 101.
