Gen Z ‘wholesome water’ craze sees gross sales surge

As Gen Z swaps tea and coffee for vitamin drinks, sales of so-called ‘healthy’ water have this year soared by 66 per cent.

Online grocer Ocado has attributed the electrolyte products’ boom to youngsters increasing their focus on health matters.

In its research, a fifth of respondents said they have swapped coffee and tea for hydration drinks. Among Gen Z, this figure jumped to 36 per cent.

Electrolytes provide minerals, such as sodium and potassium, which help regulate bodily fluids.

Boom: Popular brands include Punchy, which is advertised by elite marathon runner Anya Culling (pictured)
