Eurostar disruption chaos as cancellations warned after ‘passengers stranded in tunnel’

Eurostar passengers have reportedly been stuck for hours after a major incident on the line is causing chaos with heavy delays and cancellations possible.

Reports suggest some have been stuck on a stalled train for three hours, while another train is stuck in an operating tunnel and is trying to be moved.

Eurostar confirmed there is issues on the line due to an “overhead power supply” and will see major delays and even some trains cancelled at the last minute.

One frustrated user wrote on X: “Still stalled for 3 hours going to Belgium. Waiting for a train stuck in the only operating tunnel to be moved. Other trains are currently in the same situation behind us. Left London at 07.”

In response to one user, the Eurostar account answered: “Due to a problem with the overhead power supply in the Channel Tunnel and a subsequent failed Le Shuttle train, our trains are likely to be subject to severe delays and last-minute cancellations.”
