Fulham are considering a revised offer after having a £26million proposal rejected for PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi.
Daily Mail Sport reported at the weekend how Fulham had rekindled their interest in the USA international but PSV are reluctant to sell the 22-year-old who has been prolific for them in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Fulham had considered an approach for Fiorentina’s Moise Kean but it is understood coach Marco Silva preferred to explore other options.
Pepi, nicknamed ‘El Toro’, hails from El Paso, Texas and although he was born in the USA he grew up watching Mexican football and even supported the Mexico national team as a boy.
He is valued closer to £40million by PSV who rejected an offer of £25m from West Ham a year ago.
Pepi has scored nine goals so far this season on the back of 17 in 28 games last season when he also picked up a knee injury. But the key will be whether PSV can be persuaded to sell. Pepi also wants to be settled with a World Cup place to play for.
