One pub shut its doors for good each day in 2025, new figures show. Analysis revealed 366 were demolished or converted over the year.

Industry bosses said it highlights the “drastic” plight facing landlords. The data was analysed by tax specialists at Ryan. The firm’s Alex Probyn said: “This should serve as a wake-up call.” Emma McClarkin of the British Beer and Pub Association added: “Every time we lose a pub, we lose a piece of our social fabric.”
