Ryanair flight descends into chaos and is swooped by police after objects are ‘stolen from trolley’

A Ryanair plane descended into chaos after items were reportedly stolen from a trolley during the flight.

Police entered the aircraft at Edinburgh Airport on Christmas Eve following reports of the incident.

The plane had travelled from Las Palmas in Gran Canaria before landing in the Scottish capital on December 24, according to Edinburgh Live

The pilot requested that the goods be handed back – or all passengers would face consequences.

One traveller captured the events on video, with the footage being posted on TikTok.

In the clip, the pilot says: ‘The items, if they hand them over, if that happens, everyone gets off the plane quicker. If not, individually, everyone will be searched.’

If the items weren’t returned voluntarily, every passenger would be searched individually, the pilot said.

Police officers were photographed on board the plane, walking up and down the aisle.

One passenger caught the pilot’s warning on camera, with the footage being posted on TikTok

Images and video from inside the plane portray officers speaking to crew members, trying to discern what occurred.

It is thought that the goods stolen included a packet of crisps, some fizzy drinks and a selection of chocolates from the onboard trolley.

Bags and suitcases were also thoroughly searched.

However, despite this the items were not recovered during the police search.

So far, it appears that the culprit has not been found.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Edinburgh Live: ‘Around 4.15pm on Wednesday, 24 December, 2025, we received a report of items being stolen on a flight landing at Edinburgh Airport.

‘Enquiries were carried out however the items were not recovered.’

The Daily Mail has contacted Ryanair and Edinburgh Airport for comment.
