Ex-Cowboys star Micah Parsons takes brutal swipe at former proprietor Jerry Jones in no-holds-barred rant on X

Micah Parsons has taken an unprovoked swipe at his former boss Jerry Jones and accused him of ‘slander’ in the wake of his ugly trade away from the Cowboys.

Parsons was embroiled in a contract standoff with Dallas and its billionaire owner before the season, and he was eventually granted his trade request and dealt to the Green Bay Packers.

The saga leading up to the trade dominated the offseason, and Parsons has been aggrieved by comments made by Jones in the aftermath of the trade, in which he claimed he had ‘no regrets’ and that the Cowboys ‘got what we wanted’.

On New Year’s Day, Parsons took to X to respond to some comments from Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, in which he bemoaned the loss of Parsons and appeared to admit the defense had worsened since his exit.

Given the comments were significantly different to Jones’ outlook on the trade, Parsons reacted with a series of laughing faces, sparking a furious response from Dallas fans.

Parsons then weighed in again with a second post, writing: ‘Y’all want me to feel bad? Jerry Jones slandered my name to Cowboys media and national media for months.

The ex-Cowboys star argued he is within his rights to laugh at his old team after his treatment

Parsons initially reacted to some quotes from Matt Eberflus about the changes to the defense

‘So I do think I can react to comment if I want to! #respecfully’

In response, one fan labeled Parsons a ‘hypocrite’ due to his tweet from 24 hours earlier, in which he defended another ex-Cowboys player in Trevon Diggs.

Diggs was released by the team this week and one reporter posted a series of statistics that appeared to detail his waning form and the reasons for his exit.

Parsons had then responded: ‘I feel like what point is there in trying to publicly disrespect someone? He’s not representing the star anymore, just give the man a farewell and wish him the best.

‘I don’t know why everything has to be negative every time a break-up happens! He’s in a better situation rn, trust me! Bro’s gonna be great again!’

Parsons is, of course, in the middle of a negative break-up of his own, and some would argue he has been publicly disrespectful of Jones – as Jones has been of him.

In Week 15, Parsons suffered a torn ACL against the Denver Broncos, ending his season and setting him up for a long recovery.

He has since undergone surgery but now has plenty of time on his hands as he watches on from the sideline and awaits his chance to return to the NFL field.
