Concerns over President Donald Trump’s health are mounting after he admitted to significantly increasing his daily meds dose to maintain “nice, thin blood” defying medical advice
Fears for US President Donald Trump’s health are increasing after he admitted he’s upped his daily aspirin dose far beyond what doctors recommend. Insiders have even claimed he has been ignoring medical advice.
A recent interview reportedly revealed that Trump has upped his aspirin intake in order to maintain what he calls “nice, thin blood”. However he reportedly made this decision independently, despite medical advice to the contrary for someone of his age.
Trump is 79 years old. He will turn 80 this year in June.
As a result, the president has reportedly disregarded the guidance of health professionals. He has shared his thoughts that he did not need “woke doctors”.
According to a Wall Street Journal article, Trump reportedly gets little sleep and has been seen struggling to stay awake during some televised appearances in the West Wing. Those close to him, including aides and donors, say they often have to raise their voices in meetings as he has difficulty hearing.
Aside from his regular golf outings, Trump does not engage in much exercise, and his diet is notorious for being high in salt and fat, with frequent meals of hamburgers and french fries, The Canary reported. The polarising politician has reportedly admitted that the substantial dose of aspirin he takes daily has made him prone to bruising.
While his doctors have advised him to switch to a lower dose, he reportedly refuses, explaining, “I’m a little superstitious”. Trump said in the interview: “They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart.
“I want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart. Does that make sense?”
Nevertheless, Trump’s aspirin intake has continued to raise eyebrows, with The Canary suggesting he ”may literally be killing himself”.
Trump’s physician, Dr. Barbabella reportedly confirmed that Trump takes aspirin for “cardiac prevention”, specifically 325 milligrams daily, a much higher dose than the 81 milligrams typically recommended by the Mayo Clinic.
In other Trump health news, people have noticed that his left hand has been showing persistent discoloration and mild bruising. This has drawn renewed attention during his recent meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy at Mar-a-Lago, with the White House offering no explanation for the marks.
Previously, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has attributed Trump’s bizarrely-marked hands to the fact that he “shakes hands” with a lot of people, the Daily Star previously reported. In her words: “President Trump is a man of the people and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other President in history.
“His commitment is unwavering and he proves that every single day.” But Trump is right-handed.
