JD Vance’s house underneath assault as secret service rush to scene

JD Vance’s home has been attacked with reports of windows being smashed as secret service swarm the area.

The US Vice President’s Cincinnati property was damaged in the early hours of Monday morning.

The police have said they have taken a person into custody after they were seen going in and out of the home.

It is unclear where JD Vance was at the time of the attack. The controversial politician was however in Florida last Friday meeting with his boss Donald Trump.

Vance spent the day with Trump at his golf club in West Palm Beach to discuss the impending strikes on Venezuela and the operation to remove Nicolas Maduro. But he didn’t join the president and other top administration officials at Mar-a-Lago to watch it being carried out – due to fears it could give away the operation.

The vice president instead watched it unfold via secure video conference and then flew back to his home in Cincinnati after the operation concluded. His office said he was “deeply integrated in the process and planning.”

Vance’s Office said that due “to increased security concerns, the Administration has aimed to limit the frequency and duration of the Vice President and President being co-located away from the White House.”

Residents living near the scene of the house attack were told to expect law enforcement to be posted at checkpoints in the area while those who live within the closure zone were able to access their homes through one of three marked security checkpoints.

The vehicle checkpoints will be located at William Howard Taft Road and Torrence Parkway, and at William Howard Taft Road and East McMillan Street.

A pedestrian-only checkpoint will be at Riverside Drive and Collins Avenue. Officials said drivers should use Torrence Parkway, Madison Road, and Woodburn Avenue as detour routes while the closures are in effect. “Please factor in extra time when traveling as a result of these security measures,” the release stated.
