Kyle Chalmers marries the love of his life in gorgeous ceremony – and their child daughter performed a starring function

Kyle Chalmers and his partner Ingeborg Løyning have tied the knot in a stunning ceremony in South Australia, with the couple’s baby daughter Astrid front and centre as they signed their marriage certificate.

The swimmers took their romance to the next level in Chalmers’ home town of Port Lincoln on Saturday and revealed the joyful news on Instagram on Monday afternoon.

Løyning wore a traditional Norwegian dress as they exchanged vows in a beautiful garden setting, with Chalmers donning a pair of black pants, beige suit jacket and bow tie for the big occasion.

His wife changed into a figure-hugging, high-cut off-white dress for the reception, with one video of the party showing them both dancing with oversized novelty sunglasses on while perched on the shoulders of their friends.

Astrid, who was born in August, was also pictured with her great-grandparents in addition to sitting in her father’s lap as a beaming Løyning watched him signing the paperwork.

The newlyweds also posed for a photo as the sun set over a vineyard.

Comments were turned off for their Instagram post, which was liked by names including Michael Klim and footy WAG Kellie Finlayson.

It’s no surprise that the ceremony took place in the small town on the Eyre Peninsula, with Chalmers maintaining close ties with where he grew up.

He has played footy for the local Lincoln South club during his breaks from the pool, and is also an ambassador for the local Tunarama Festival.

Chalmers and Løyning announced their engagement in June last year.

The Olympic gold medallist shared the news to Instagram alongside a carousel of images with his stunning partner.

In the first image, Kyle, 25, was seen beaming as his wife tenderly rested her hand on his chest, giving fans a glimpse at her stunning engagement ring.

The couple captioned the images simply by noting the date of the announcement, ‘19.06.24’, alongside an infinity symbol.

Kyle was first linked to the Norwegian swimmer in June 2023.

The swim king and his bride cut fine figures as they cut the cake

In November that year they all but confirmed their romance after they each uploaded a photo collage gallery to Instagram containing a very cosy image.

The photo showed Chalmers and Løyning looking like a couple as they posed arm-in-arm while taking a dog for a walk.

Another image showed Løyning and Chalmers enjoying an outdoor meal together.

The couple’s good news comes after Chalmers revealed he almost quit swimming amid the infamous love triangle saga that rocked the Australian team in 2022.

Chalmers was in the eye of a media storm over his involvement in a love triangle with ex-girlfriend Emma McKeon and fellow swimmer Cody Simpson.

Chalmers and McKeon briefly dated in 2021.

The 27-year-old Croweater has set four world records in his glittering career, which saw him win gold at the 2016 Olympics and silver at the Tokyo and Paris Games.

Last year he revealed he’d made a big change in his priorities after meeting his bride.

‘My family and friends, being a great fiancé and soon-to-be-great dad are so much more important to me than being the very best athlete,’ he said.
